1. Terms of use

By using the HoustonChatLine website or using its phone service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to them, please do not use the service.

We may modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the chat line after a change means you accept the revised terms. We may suspend or terminate an account for breach of these terms, without notice.

2. Eligibility and age

The chat line is for adults aged 18 and over. By calling, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old.

Underage use, misrepresenting your age, and involving a minor in a conversation in any form all result in immediate and permanent removal. There is no warning step and no appeal.

3. On-phone conduct

You are responsible for the security of your account and for everything said from it. You agree not to use the chat line to transmit content that is defamatory, abusive, obscene, harassing, threatening, hateful, fraudulent, or otherwise unlawful.

You also agree not to impersonate another person, solicit money or financial information from other callers, or record a conversation without the other caller consenting to it.

4. Content on the chat line

Greetings and conversations are created by callers, not by us. We do not verify the accuracy of anything a caller says, and we do not endorse it. You rely on information from another caller at your own risk.

5. Warning: please read

You may encounter callers whose language or conduct you find offensive. We moderate the chat line and act on reports, but we cannot preview a live conversation before it happens.

We are not liable for personal information you choose to disclose to another caller, or for what another caller does with it. Keep your full name, address, workplace, and financial details to yourself.

6. Indemnity

You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless HoustonChatLine, its officers, employees, and agents from any loss, liability, claim, or demand arising out of your use of the chat line or your breach of this agreement.

7. Proprietary rights

The website, the brand, and the material we publish belong to us. By recording a greeting or submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, irrevocable, perpetual, royalty-free license to use, copy, store, and distribute that content in operating the service.

8. Information supplied by members

We treat information you supply in line with our Privacy Policy. We disclose it only for the purposes it was collected for, or where the law requires it.

9. Service type

HoustonChatLine is a voice-based phone chat service. Women call free. Men receive free trial minutes on a new account, and time beyond the trial is paid.

We do not guarantee that any particular caller, volume of callers, or type of conversation will be available at any given time.

10. Fees and payments

Time is sold in pre-paid packages and charged per minute of use.

There are no automatic renewals. You only make one time purchases.

• Accounts may be deactivated after a stated period of non-use
• Unused minutes are forfeited if an account is terminated for breach of these terms

11. Terms and conditions of purchase

Purchases are final. We do not refund remaining minutes where an account is terminated for breach of these terms.

Any dispute arising out of these terms will be settled by binding arbitration under the applicable arbitration rules, rather than in court. You and we each waive the right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action.

13. Disclaimer of warranty

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranty, express or implied, that the chat line will be uninterrupted, secure, error free, or fit for any particular purpose.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim arose.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for the acts or omissions of other callers.

15. General provisions

These terms are governed by the laws of Texas, without regard to conflict of law principles. They contain the entire agreement between you and us regarding the service.

If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
