What stays private

Your phone number is never shown to another caller and never shared with one.
There are no public profiles, no photos, and no bios.
Your voice greeting is the only thing other callers hear.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
You can end a conversation at any point. You do not owe anyone a reason.
You decide how much of yourself to bring into a call, and you can change your mind halfway through.

18+Adults only, no exceptions

HoustonChatLine is for adults aged 18 and over. When you call the number, you are confirming that you are at least 18 years old.

We act immediately

If we learn that someone underage is on the chat line, or that a caller has misrepresented their age, we remove their access immediately.

No warning step

The same applies to any caller who brings a minor into a conversation in any form. There is no warning step for this.

What we do not allow

We have a zero-tolerance position on all of the following:

Harassment, threats, intimidation, or coercion of any kind
Hate speech or discrimination directed at who someone is
Sexual content aimed at anyone who has not consented to it
Pretending to be someone you are not
Asking anyone for money, banking details, or identifying personal information
Recording a conversation without the other caller consenting to it
Anything illegal as defined by the law of the United States

Consent is taken very seriously in HoustonChatLine. Callers on our chat line connect because they want to, and are free to leave anytime they wish.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Houston chat line safe to use?

Yes. Your phone number is never shown or shared; the chat line is moderated around the clock by a real team. You can block any caller mid-call by pressing a key.

Will anyone see my phone number?

No. Your number is hidden from every other caller on the chat line, and we do not sell personal information to third parties.

How do I block someone on the chat line?

Press 8 during the call. That removes them from your session and stops them from reaching you again. Press 8 a second time to flag them to our moderation team.

What happens after I report a caller?

A member of our team reviews the account and the report. Depending on what we find, the caller receives a warning or is banned from using the chat line permanently.

Do I have to be 18 to call?

Yes. HoustonChatLine is an adults-only service. By calling, you confirm you are at least 18 years old.

Can I hang up in the middle of a conversation?

Yes, at any time, for any reason. No explanation required.
